Victim identified, search for suspect underway in fatal Mishawaka shooting

The man who was found dead after a shooting in Mishawaka, earlier this week, has been identified.

Police were called around 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, to an apartment in the 4500 block of Hickory Road where they found Yannick Tunga, 20, dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

When police arrived, they tried to resuscitate the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will take place in Fort Wayne.

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide investigators are leading the investigation.
