Search ongoing for South Bend shooting suspect

The search is on for a suspect named in connection to a shooting and stand-off in South Bend.

The incidents happened around 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18. Police were called to the 1900 block of Lincoln Way West for reports of shots fired.

When they arrived, they found a man shot. That person was taken to Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers then learned that the suspect, Azalia Parker, may have gone into a home with a hostage.

The SWAT Team and Negotiating Team was called in. After about two hours, the SWAT Team made entry, but Parker was not in the home.

The man who was shot is Parker’s ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend and the shooting occurred during a dispute, according to court documents.
