Elkhart woman arrested in Motel 6 fire

An Elkhart woman has been arrested after admitting to the police that she started a fire at the Elkhart hotel last weekend.

Crews responded to a the fire at the Motel 6 on Plaza Court Sunday night, and found 32 year-old Tiffany Crocker in a room with numerous fire-making implements. The fire alarm had been ripped off the wall and burn marks were evident throughout the room.

Court records show 30 other rooms were occupied the night of the fire. Crocker was charged with arson on Thursday and is being held on $120,000 bond, charged with a Level III Felony.
