South Bend police investigating overnight shooting

An investigation is underway for a shooting that happened in South Bend Thursday night.

Police were called to the 2300 block of Elwood Avenue just before 9 p.m. on reports of shots fired.

At the scene, officers found one person suffering from a gunshot wound, according to ABC 57 News. They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No suspect information has been released at this time. Police are asking anyone with information to call Michiana Crime Stoppers at (574) 288-STOP or the Investigative Bureau at (574) 235-9263.
