Former SB Police Chief passes away

A Former South Bend Police Chief has passed away.

The Department says Chief Charles ‘Chuck’ Hurley has died. Hurley first joined the department in 1968 and served at many levels, the last four of them as Chief of Police, before retiring and joining the Notre Dame Security Police.

He also spent time as both the Deputy and Head Coroner. Chief Scott Ruszkowski said the department is saddened by the news and is keeping the family in their thoughts and prayers.
