Cass County Republican Party censures Congressman Fred Upton

The Cass County Republican Party has censured Michigan Congressman Fred Upton.

The party says Upton betrayed the oath of office and core values of Cass County Republicans for his vote, last month, to impeach President Trump, despite having no investigation of the facts.

The party says offering no witnesses, this “hearing” deprived the president of his Constitutional right to due process and that Upton ignored the voice of the voters of Cass County.

In a release sent to 95-3 MNC, the local GOP says the Issues Committee of the Cass County Republican Party is charged with making recommendations for further action.

The full text of the censure is below:

Whereas, the Cass County Republican Party strongly condemns politically motivated violence experienced throughout our country and recently on the U S Capitol.

Whereas, many Cass County Republican Delegates and residents of Cass County attended President Trumps rally in the Capitol during the Joint-Session of Congress.

Whereas, a massive crowd of Patriots that stretched from the Ellipse to the Capitol filling the closed to traffic street from curb to curb with every race, creed and social background to peacefully petition our government for redress of grievances regarding the 2020 Presidential election.

Whereas, the Democratic Party, liberal media and self-serving “Republicans” continue to seek personal and political gain by misleading the American people into believing President Trump incited the violence that took place at the Capitol.

Whereas, on January 13, 2021, the US House of Representatives voted on H R 24: a resolution Impeaching Donald J Trump, President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors. In having no investigation of the facts, offering no witnesses this “hearing” deprived President Trump of his Constitutional right to due process. The allegation does not meet the bar of high crimes or misdemeanors.

Whereas, on January 13, 2021, Cass County’s 6th District Republican Congressman, Fred Upton, voted yes on House Resolution 24; supporting impeachment of a duly elected Republican President.

Whereas, we believe Congressman Upton’s vote is a betrayal of his oath of office and core values of the Cass County Republican Party. We believe this vote ignored the voice of the voters of Cass County and was against our interest.

Now may it be resolved, that the Cass County Republican Executive Committee hereby censures Congressman Fred Upton and condemns his vote to impeach President Trump.

May it further be resolved, that this resolution be referred to the Issues Committee and that the Issues Committee is instructed to investigate any further action that may be available to the Executive Committee and shall make recommendations to the Executive Committee for further consideration.

Thank you Cass County GOP. It’s time for Mr. Upton to retire. If he runs next election, I’m sure he’ll have a primary challenger, assuming there is not a recall election. I’ve always thought Upton was a deep state “participant”. Now I’m sure!

It only counts if they say “whereas” three times in a row, and spin around in a circle.

Sleazeball Upton also voted against Marjorie Greene in yesterday’s Committee fiasco.

Stop voting for him, Michigan! He hates you and despises your values. Do not forget!

The election was not stolen and I support Uptons courage in essentially standing up to an uneducated mob who are taking our democracy down. Republicans are going down an authoritarian path. We need to fear for our democracy.
