The Indiana Region of The American Red Cross says they received an “overwhelming response from volunteers” in the early days of the pandemic when they called for people to help sew masks.

The response prompted officials to set the lofty goal of crafting and distributing 70,000 masks to local organizations.

Thanks to the efforts of volunteers, the Red Cross says they’ve been able to donate more than 109,000 face coverings in the state.
