Man injured in Friday night shooting in Benton Township

One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries stemming from a shooting in Benton Township.

The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, in the 1500 Block of Highland.

The victim told police he was traveling west on Highland when shots were fired from a vehicle heading eastbound.

Witnesses reported seeing a black SUV around the time of the shooting, according to investigators.

There was no immediate word of any suspects or arrests.
