Two Michigan City residents arrests after fleeing from crash scene on I-80/94

Two Michigan City residents have been arrested after taking off from the scene of a crash in northwest Indiana.

The collision happened on Saturday,. March 13, on I-80/94 in Lake Station.

A man and woman reported to have taken off from a car involved in the crash were walking on the other side of the interstate.

Police determined their car struck a semi.

When officers caught up to Anthony Hampton, 21, and Mersadis Schroder, 24, both were carrying bags, but claimed they didn’t know whose bags they were or what was inside.

Inside Schroder’s bags was a scale, baggies, paraphernalia and some lighters.

The two were taken to the Lake County Jail on a slew of drug and crash-related charges.
