Some Americans are still waiting for their accounts to reflect the government stimulus checks, even if they show as pending.

The reason is simple: It just takes a couple of days for the checks to process, according to Treasury officials.

You can check the status of your payment with the Get My Payment tool from the IRS. Direct deposits reportedly went out first, and paper checks and prepaid debit cards will be sent out by the end of March.

About 90% of families are estimated to receive money from the program.
