Boulder Colorado officer killed in supermarket shooting was a Ball State graduate

The officer who was one of ten people killed in a mass shooting at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado, on Monday has ties to the Hoosier State.

Boulder Police Officer Eric Talley was a graduate of Ball State University. Talley was a student there from 1997 to 2004, earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Center for Information and Communication Sciences.

In 2010, after his best friend was killed in a DUI crash, he decided to be a police officer.

On Monday, “Officer Talley responded to the scene, was the first on the scene, and he was fatally shot,” said Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold.

Many are calling Talley a hero, including Colorado Governor Jared Polis.

“That’s exactly what Boulder Police Officer Eric Talley was doing as he lost his life in the line of duty — he was heroically trying to save others,” Polis said in a Tuesday press conference.

Talley was 51 years old. He leaves behind a wife and seven children.

It’s interesting that we didn’t seem to have many mass shootings until the Democrats started pushing gun control again…

That’s only because you weren’t paying attention, Chuck. Here’s a few that happened under Trump’s watch:

– 10/1/17 Las Vegas: 58 killed at a country music festival
– 11/5/17 Sutherland Springs Texas: 26 killed at a rural Texas church
– 2/14/18 Parkland, Florida: 17 killed at Douglas High School
– 5/18/18 Santa Fe, Texas: 10 killed at Houston area high school
– 10/27/18 Pittsburgh, Pa: 11 killed at Tree of Life Synagogue
– 11/7/18 Thousand Oaks, Cal: 12 killed in a bar
– 5/31/19 Virginia Beach, Va: 12 killed at municipal building
– 8/4/19 Dayotn, OH: 9 killed in downtown Dayton
– 8/3/19 El Paso, Texas: 22 killed at Walmart store
– 2/15/20 Illinois: 5 killed at factory
– 2/26/20 Milwaukee: 5 killed at Molson Cools Brewry

The shootings are absolutely horrible, performed by sick, warped people. The Democrats may want to blame the gun for the shooting, and we can debate whether or not gun laws do anything at all to prevent these horrendous acts. But they clearly to happen regardless of which party is in the White House.

That’s why I said “seem”. They happen, but the media really seems to push the hysteria when the Dems are pushing their agenda.
