Arrest made after shooting on Catalpa Avenue in South Bend

One person is recovering and another had been arrested after a shooting in South Bend.

Police were called around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 26, to the 1700 block of Catalpa where they found one person who had been shot.

The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The South Bend Police Shooting Response Team was called to the scene and took over the ongoing investigation. Shortly after that, the shooting suspect was located and apprehended.

The suspect was eventually arrested and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail where he is awaiting formal charges by the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
