A South Bend native is the new chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party.
Mike Schmuhl is a graduate of St. Joseph High School and the University of Notre Dame, according to WSBT.
He’s a longtime friend of former Mayor Pete Buttigieg and served as his chief of staff in the early days of his time as Mayor of South Bend. Schmuhl hope to change the fortunes of a party that has struggled in elections around the state for several years.
