Body found in Porter Co. brushfire

A body was found Sunday afternoon in a brush fire in Northwest Indiana.

Lake County fire officials discovered the man’s body while fighting the fire in Porter County’s Portage Township.

The fire was near the railroad tracks at 600 North and County Line Road. The man’s identity has not been released and an autopsy is pending.

The Porter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death.
