A 24-year-old Elkhart man faces child molesting charges.

Police say Luis Alvarado was involved in sexual encounters with a girl under age 14.

Police made the arrest after the victim’s mother disclosed that Alvarado had contact with her last month.

Investigators say Alvarado admitted to the wrongdoing both to the mom and to police after they were called.

He was booked in the Elkhart County Jail on $150,000 bond.
