Details in Elkhart Co murder trial become intense

Testimony in a joint murder trial in Elkhart County became a bit too much for at least one member of the jury.

Donald Owen Jr, 22 and Mario Angulo Jr, 20, are charged with murder in the October 2019 death of 31 year-old Kimberly Dyer.

Authorities say she was held in the basement of an Elkhart home for hours and abused before she was killed. Her body was dumped in Michigan.

The Elkhart Truth reports that at least one jury member became physically ill while hearing testimony. The judge called for a break.

Given the evidence of torture, a sentence enhancement has been filed alongside the murder charges that could send the two men to prison for life without eligibility for parole if they are convicted.
