A man has been sentenced to nearly three decades in prison for his role in the murder of an Indianapolis pastor’s wife.

Jalen Watson was sentenced to 29 years in prison.

Watson pleaded guilty in 2017 to the charges related to Amanda Blackburn’s murder.

Blackburn, who hailed from Elkhart, was shot in the head during November 2015 attack at the couple’s home and died the next day. She was 13 weeks pregnant and the child did not survive. The couple’s 15-month-old son, Weston, was at home but not harmed in the attack. Her husband, pastor Davey Blackburn, was not at home at the time.

Watson is set to help the state prosecute Larry Taylor, who is believed to have killed Blackburn.

“Blackburn, who hailed from Elkhart, was shot in the head during November 2015 attack at the couple’s home and died the next day.”

Wow. How sanitized. If this is the story I think it is, the details are a LOT more horrific than that and they have already been published.

It’s almost like the media is trying to downplay this crime for some reason now that there is a photo of a suspect. Weird.

(And yes, I know MNC didn’t write this article, but someone did!)
