Teen passenger injured in crash after grabbing vehicle’s wheel

A 17-year-old who grabbed the wheel of a car in Cass County is recovering from injuries after causing the vehicle to travel off the road and crash into a tree.

The collision happened around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, on O’Keefe Road, north of Dutch Settlement Road, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say a 19-year-old from Dowagiac was traveling northbound when the passenger grabbed the wheel.

The passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
