The Unifrax Plant in New Carlisle is getting a $13 million upgrade.

WNDU reports that the facility, thanks to advancements in battery technology, will add 20 more full-time jobs and bring in new equipment. This would allow for a new manufacturing process.

Unifrax currently employs 115 people at the site.

The St. Joseph County Council is considering a tax abatement request this week, and there will be public hearings in May and June.
