Peloton is recalling treadmills after the death of a child and 29 reports of injuries.

Peloton Interactive announced the recall of their Tread Plus and Tread treadmills after more than 70 incidents, one of which resulted in the death of a child and other instances that caused injuries such as cuts and broken bones.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall Wednesday, a month after households with children and pets were warned to stop using the treadmills.

Peloton cautioned their customers to keep children and pets away from the 450-pound machines but had resisted initial requests for a recall.

Peloton CEO John Foley apologized for not taking faster action, and sales of the devices have been suspended.
