Public’s help needed for information into 15-year-old boy’s shooting death

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is asking for the help from the public in the investigation into the deadly shooting of a 15-year-old boy.

It was back on May 1 when police were sent to the 1000 block of McKinley on the report of shots fired.

They found the teenager in a nearby alley suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The teen was taken to Elkhart General Hospital, then transferred to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment.

The boy died on May 4.

Investigators say witnesses are not cooperating. They’re asking anybody with information to contact the Elkhart County Homicide Unit at 574-295-2825 or 574-296-1888.
