Two alleged breaking-and-entering suspects were captured early Monday morning after allegedly leading police on a chase, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported.

It happened around 2:00 o’clock Monday morning when Edwardsburg Police officers saw a suspicious vehicle towing a golf cart at M-62 near Oil City Road. The vehicle then took off and led police on an alleged chase, according to reports.

The golf cart crashed on Oil City Road while the van continued until it crashed into a trailer in Ontwa Township. The male driver and female passenger ran out of the vehicle; the male driver was found in a shed about 100 yards away, police said.

The person in the golf cart also ran away and was found hiding in a yard near the golf cart by K9 Faust. According to authorities, the golf cart and other items recovered were found to be stolen.

The 49-year-old driver, and 36-year-old male also faces several charges, including larceny from a building.

The female passenger was found later and interviewed. Deputies will be requesting that the female be charged as well, reports said.
