(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

The South Bend SWAT Team was called to a home in the 700 block of North Johnson Street, around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, when a domestic situation turned tense.

A man refused to come out.

The negotiating team was activated, but SWAT ended up using chemical irritants and distraction devices to get the man out. He was then taken to the hospital.

A second person who left the home, beforehand, refused medical treatment.
