Major League Baseball is stepping in to investigate a brawl the happened between players in a game between the South Bend Cubs and Fort Wayne Tincaps.

The two Minor League clubs got in a heated brawl that stemmed from some words exchanged between a Tincaps batter and a Cubs shortstop during Tuesday night’s game at Four Winds Field.

That led to the benches clearing and punches being thrown. Several players and Cubs manager Michael Ryan were ejected.

The MLB says they are looking into the brawl. But, they have no precedent to follow because they have never investigated an incident like this in the minor leagues.
