The City of South Bend has launched its new Build South Bend online toolkit to help residents who are interested in becoming small-scale developers.

The new toolkit, available at southbendin.gov/BSB, provides information on how small developers can source properties, perform due diligence, procure necessary permits, and more.

“This toolkit is the product of a tremendous collaboration of shared knowledge between local banks and CDFIs, contractors, real estate agents, developers, architects, and so many parts of the City’s government,” said Alkeyna Aldridge, Director of Engagement and Economic Empowerment. “We hope that this toolkit not only provides helpful resources to small-scale developers but inspires people in the community to pursue their own projects to spark small scale change in our neighborhoods.”

A free Small-Scale Incremental Development Seminar will be held on Monday, June 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Our Lady of Hungary School Auditorium, 829 W. Calvert St.

Residents who would prefer to attend virtually can do so at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82876320678.
