It happened along Columbia Street in the LaPorte County city.

Officers were called to the scene at around 10:30, Saturday night, where witnesses told them that a home and car were struck by gunfire.

Officers searched the area and found several spent ammo cartridges on the pavement.

As many as three people were seen in the area where the shorts were fired into the vehicle.

There was no report of any injuries.
