Leaf pickup registration problems in St. Joe County caused by web traffic

St. Joe County residents looking to sign up for the subsidized lead pickup program ran into some problems this week as the sheer amount of web traffic caused the online sign-up program to crash periodically throughout the morning on Tuesday, which was the first day to register.

The first 3,000 people were going to get a special rate of $99 for leaf-pickup in 2021. However, with the crashes, the county announced that they would allow registrants through at least Tuesday night to still get the discounted rate, even if that exceeded the 3,000 mark. The form to register was set to stay up until Wednesday morning at the earliest, and the vendor should be taking on any extra costs.

If you had problems signing up, and couldn’t make the deadline, you are advised to call St. Joe County Recycling directly to resolve the issue.
