Beware of phony South Bend Code Enforcement employee

Somebody is impersonating a South Bend Code Enforcement employee.

That warning comes from the City of South Bend, which is passing along the word to always remember that a true Code Enforcement employee will always display and present identification and give their name if asked by a resident.

The Code Enforcement employees will also drive marked City of South Bend vehicles and have the City seal displayed on their shirts, jackets, and vests.

They say if you see anything that looks suspicious, to call the South Bend Police Department and if you have questions about Code Enforcement, call 311.
