Suspicious package found at Warsaw post office deemed safe

(Nick Deranek/News Now Warsaw)

A suspicious package found at the Warsaw Post Office on West Market Street Thursday afternoon turned out to be safe.

Detective Sergeant Brad Kellar from the Warsaw Police Department says they received a call just after 2:30 PM after postal workers found the package placed on the back dock of the post office building had suspicious markings on it and called police.

Using a bomb-sniffing dog from the Indiana State Police, along with bomb technicians from the FBI, the package was eventually deemed safe. The investigation has been turned over to the US Postal Inspection Service. Police do not know when the package was left on the dock and currently do not have any suspects.

No information was given on what was inside of the package.
