Woman, 71, seriously injured in double shooting in Elkhart

Elkhart Police are investigating a double shooting that took place around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, in the 300 block of Gross Street.

Once officers arrived, they found a 71-year old woman with a gunshot wound. The woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say before they arrived a 17-year old male with a gunshot wound was also taken to a hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening.

Police say there is no immediate threat to the public.
