Goshen man arrested after caught inside Goodwill donation box

One man was arrested but another got away after the two were found inside a Goodwill donation box in Goshen.

After getting several reports about thefts, officers were patrolling the Goodwill box in the Martin’s Super Market parking lot in the 1400 block of College Avenue, late Monday night, July 19, when investigators say the found two men inside the box.

One of the suspects, Bruce Davis, 30, of Goshen, took off on foot but was captured by police on Cedarbrook Court. He was taken into custody on outstanding warrants through the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office and Elkhart City Police. He was also also arrested for fleeing and false informing.

The other suspect, a 31-year-old man from Fort Wayne, also took off on foot and is still at-large.
