Mishawaka Police investigating overnight shooting, two found dead

Two men are dead after an alleged shooting in Mishawaka Tuesday night.

Police were called to the 800 block of Burdette Street just before 11 p.m. on reports of the shooting.

Inside the home, officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have since identified the victims as Joseph Banks, 29, and Trevor Danneffel, 23. Both men are from Mishawaka.

Autopsies will be conducted at the Stryker School of Medicine and an update will be provided when more information is released.

Police report the incident is still being investigated, but they are not pursuing any suspects and there is no concern for public safety.
