New upgrades and accessibly measures installed at Governor Joe Kernan Park will be unveiled on Wednesday, July 21.

The new additions to the park include a universally accessible trail along the upper riverwalk, two new river outlooks, new signage, upgraded benches, and upgraded trash and recycling receptacles.

The park honors the former South Bend Mayor and Indiana Governor and serves as a connection along the riverfront trail system.

A ribbon-cutting is set for 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, to show it all off.
