An Elkhart woman was arrested Tuesday night for speeding while driving drunk with five kids in the car.

Just after 7 p.m., an Indiana State Trooper saw a 2009 Buick Enclave speed past him on the US 20 Bypass near County Road 1. He noticed that the Buick was going more than 100 miles per hour in the 65 mile-per-hour zone.

As it caught up to the trooper’s unmarked car, it moved to the passing lane and passed the trooper without slowing down.

The trooper stopped the Buick for speeding and noticed that the driver, 25-year-old Jasmine Creal, appeared to be intoxicated. She also had five children between the ages of two and 17 inside the car with her. A test at the scene determined Creal was more than twice the legal limit for alcohol.

Creal was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated with a Passenger Under 18, Operating While Intoxicated-Endangerment, Operating While Intoxicated, and Reckless Driving. She was taken to the Elkhart County Jail. The five children were picked up by an adult that came to the scene.
