Walmart announced on Tuesday that it will pay for 100% of college tuition and books for their employees through its Live Better U education program.
Also, starting August 16, the company will no longer charge about one and a half million Walmart and Sam’s Club employees the $1-per-day fee for access to the program. This will allow employees to pursue college degrees or trade skills without having to shoulder additional debt.
The company also added four new academic partners in their expansion of the program.
Our Live Better U program just got better. We’re proud to announce we’ll now pay 100% of college tuition and books for our associates seeking additional education, a planned investment of nearly $1 billion over the next five years. https://t.co/a4GTT9dTmu pic.twitter.com/wxx3xCmWg0
