An 18-month-old boy died Monday after he was found in a pond near Rochester, said the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency crews were called Monday afternoon about a toddler in a pond at a home on Lakeview Bend.

A neighbor, who was not identified, went into the pond to save the boy, said police. Emergency medical crews arrived and worked on the boy, who died at Woodlawn Hospital.

Police believe the boy accidentally drowned. An autopsy was scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
