A family picnic is planned for South Bend’s northwest side for this weekend.

On Saturday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the Westside Alumni Group will host a family picnic at Kennedy Park.

Everyone is welcome out to the free event.

There will be a bounce house, live music, a dance contest, and even cash prizes.

Organizers say that kids will be able to eat for free. They do recommend that you bring your own tent.
