Multiple shootings on Sunday keep South Bend Police busy

As many as four people were hurt in multiple shootings in South Bend.

The first shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1, in the 2000 block of Kendall Street where a woman was shot while inside her home. A second person was found injured near the intersection of South Main Street and West Calvert Street.

Then, around 2:30 p.m. another shooting happened at Bendix Drive and Sugar Maple Lane.

Multiple gunshots were fired and struck a vehicle. A woman received a wound to the head. A man in the vehicle was struck by broken glass.

A suspect was picked up in the 1600 block of Portage Avenue.
