The South Bend Community School Corporation will be hosting four community meetings, next week, to make parents and students aware of with the district’s replacement for the Code of Conduct.

The meetings will introduce the district’s new Shared Rights and Responsibilities set of expectations for student behavior.

It is designed to be less punitive than the Code of Conduct.

The district says the new set of expectations focus on the importance of correcting bad behavior while also repairing the harm caused by it.

The meetings are set for:

  • Monday, August 9 at 6:00 p.m. at Martin’s Supermarket, 525 S. Mayflower Road.
  • Tuesday, August 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 206 S. Falcon St.
  • Wednesday, August 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Brown Community Learning Center, 737 Beale St. (Masks are required inside the Brown Community Learning Center).
  • Wednesday, August 11 at 6:00 p.m. — Virtual meeting via Facebook Live.
