Boy, 10, injured in crash on U.S. 20 bypass at County Road 17

A 10-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after the pick-up truck he was riding in crashed head-on into a guardrail on the U.S. 20 bypass in Elkhart County.

The collision happened around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, at County Road 17 when the vehicle hydroplaned on wet pavement, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

The boy suffered non-life-threatening cuts and bruises to his head. Three other people in the truck, including the driver, were not hurt.
