Goshen Community Schools is now requiring masks for all staff members and visitors in it’s K-6 schools.

This, after the CDC raised Elkhart County’s level of COVID-19 community transmission from substantial to high, based on the rising number of cases per capita.

CDC and Elkhart County mask guidelines suggest that that even vaccinated people should wear masks in indoor public settings. The change in transmission level from substantial to high puts Elkhart County in the same category as all but seven of Indiana’s 92 counties and about 74 percent of the counties in the nation.

All other districts in Elkhart County have stated they’d start the school year with masks optional. We’ll let you know if any others change those plans.

The CDC has no credibility anymore. They have been politicizing COVID-19 from the start.
