Woman, 20, killed in crash at College and Orange Streets in South Bend

One person was killed in a crash at College Street and Orange Street in South Bend.

The collision happened around 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14.

Initial indications are that a Honda Civic traveling southbound on College St. collided with a Dodge Charger traveling eastbound on Orange St.

The driver of the Civic was pronounced deceased at the scene. She has been positively identified as Amira Denise Hopkins, 20, from South Bend.

The 29-year-old man driving the Dodge Charger remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team is assisting with the investigation. Toxicology results are pending.

An autopsy for Hopkins is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 15.
