Triton Junior-Senior High School football player killed in crash

A Triton Junior-Senior High School football player was killed a crash according to a post from the Triton School Corporation’s Facebook page.

The collision happened around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, according to the post.

The student who died was identified as Cameron Fairchild, according to the post.

Fairchild was a senior lineman on the football team.

School personnel, counselors, and clergy were made available at the school for those needing to talk to somebody or work through their grief.

Details about the collision were not immediately available.

The school district wrote:

“We ask that you lift Cameron’s family up in prayer as we do our best to support them, our student body, and staff through this difficult time. Tell the ones close to you that you love them and may this difficult time be a reminder to all of us to not take those around us for granted. Thank you Triton Community for your prayers and unwavering love for our scholars through the coming days and weeks.”
