More details about the Elkhart deadly roommate shooting

A deadly shooting, last week in Elkhart, was the result of an alcohol-fueled fight between roommates.

Police were actually called twice, last Wednesday night, to the home in the 400 block of North Michigan Street.

The first time was for a verbal argument between the suspect, Dustin McKee and the man he’s alleged to have shot, Brandon Lowe.

Neither men would tell police what the argument was about.

Around 90 minutes later, officers were called, again, after McKee called 911 and said he shot Lowe.

When police arrived, The Elkhart Truth reports officers found McKee with a wound to his abdomen and covered in his roommate’s blood.
