Boy, 6, who drowned in swimming pool at North Liberty home identified

The six-year-old boy who died in an accidental drowning in North Liberty has been identified.

Officers with St. Joseph County Police were called around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sep. 5, to a home in the 26000 block of Madison Road, in North Liberty, after the boy, identified as Ryan Cross, was found unresponsive in a pool, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

Life-saving measures, including CPR were taken, but the boy was pronounced dead at the hospital.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Bill Redman say the child and his mother were at the home attending a party.

The investigation into the boy’s death is still underway.
