I&M crews restoring electricity after Hurricane Ida despite multiple challenges

More than 300 Indiana Michigan Power employees and contractors continue
to restore customers in Louisiana in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

I&M line workers, forestry experts, safety personnel and fleet experts are working alongside other utility crews south of New Orleans and have encountered a number of challenging conditions — flooded streets, road closures, widespread damage and debris.

Along with storm-related hazards, crews are also having to lookout for alligators, snakes and wild boar while on job sites.

Despite that, the utility says I&M crews are in good spirits and are dedicated to restoring a sense of normalcy, along with electricity, to those impacted from Ida.
