The two people killed in a crash, earlier this week, in Berrien County have been identified.

The collision happened around 6 p.m. on Monday, Sep. 20, on Sodus Parkway when Michigan State Police say the driver of a vehicle lost control on wet pavement, crossed the center line and struck another vehicle.

The driver, Robert Keys, 42, of Niles and his front-seat passenger and son, Sylas Keys, 13, both died at the scene.

Keys’ 8-year-old son, who was also riding in the vehicle, was critically hurt and remains hospitalized as of Wednesday, Sep. 22.

All the occupants of the vehicle that was struck suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Lakeland Hospital for treatment.

Factors into the crash are still being investigated.
