A 29-year-old White Pigeon man was set for arraignment, Thursday. Police say he struck a pedestrian then moved the body from the scene.

64-year-old Melody Rohrer of Dectur was struck by a vehicle around 8:15, Monday morning.

Her husband contacted police when she didn’t return home and officers conducted a search of the area where she normally took her morning walk.

WNDU reports they found some of the women’s belongings, car parts and skid marks in the area of County Road 215 and 84th avenue in Hamilton Township.

They were also able to track down the suspected driver who led police to a wooded area in St. Joseph County, Michigan, to where her body was moved.

The suspect faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, failure to stop at a serious personal injury accident and concealing death.
