One person injured, several businesses struck by gunfire in downtown South Bend

Shots fired in downtown South Bend leave one person injured and some business vandalized by gunfire.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, in the area of Colfax Avenue and Main Street.

Soon after, a person walked into Memorial Hospital will a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.

Additional reports have been made of several businesses having been struck by gunfire.

Anybody with information is asked to call Michiana Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP or the South Bend Police Department Investigative Bureau at 574-235-9263.
