4-year-old child shot in South Bend, two adults arrested identified

A 4-year-old child was shot in South Bend. Police were called to the 1100 block of Queen Street just after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

The child’s injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.

Two adults were arrested. Terry Nailon and Rickey Williams, were preliminarily charged with neglect of a dependent and neglect of a vertebrae animal.

An emaciated dog at the scene was taken in for care by Animal Control.

There was no immediate word about the circumstances that led to the shooting.
